Wendy Wilkins

A stand-up comedian, write and actress, Wendy Wilkins made her short film directorial debut with the award winning short "Jack and Diane" made its world premiere at the 16th ANNUAL SANTA BARBARA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in March of 2001 and won Best Comedy Short at the WORLDFEST-HOUSTON FILM FESTIVAL in April. "Jack and Diane" has played fifteen film festivals including the SEATTLE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, WOODSTOCK FILM FESTIVAL, 1-REEL FILM FESTIVAL, ST. JOHN'S WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL FILM and WOMEN IN THE DIRECTOR'S CHAIR FILM FESTIVAL. "Jack and Diane" can currently be seen on IFILM.com and will make it's network debut on the Lifetime Movie Network.

A graduate of SUNY New Paltz in Upstate New York, Wendy began her career at the campus station WNPC with the dramatic series "Laughtears."  Upon graduation, she made the move from her home in Upstate New York (hence the name of her production company) to Los Angeles.

Wendy spent many years working behind the scenes on such fan favorites as "Malcolm In The Middle", HBO's "Mr. Show with Bob and David", and "Tenacious D."  She also got the chance to play David Arquette's cop sister in the comedy "Ready to Rumble" and was featured in the Canadian documentary "Dreamers", which took a close look at the lives of stand-up comics.

Most recently, Wendy was selected by Women In Film to direct a PSA for Equal Opportunity Productions.  She currently works independently developing and directing projects with a female focus.  "Get Skinny," the story of three normal sized women who kidnap a model and her eat won Best Short Film at the MUSKEGON FILM FESTIVAL and Best Independent Narrative at the CAROLINA FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL.  This next year, Wendy will be co-directing a documentary with Troy Miller (Jack Frost, Run, Ronnie, Run) about the super genius brother Jim and Joel Hodgson (Mystery Science Theatre 3000).  and their annual event 'Superball', a sci-fi nerds Burning Man.
