 Patricia Porter
Patricia is an actor, writer, and stand-up
comedian originally from Hawaii. She currently lives in Southern
California and cleverly passes herself off as an assistant during the
day. In the evenings however, you can find her performing comedy at
various venues around Los Angeles including The Ice House in Pasadena
and The Improv in Hollywood.
While growing up Patricia was very
shy and reserved. It was a period of time her family likes to refer to
as the “good old days”. But she always had a burning desire to express
herself. And this led her to get involved in performing in any capacity
she could...church plays, on-camera classes, theatre, talent
competitions, and even television production courses where she was
allowed to act as a news anchor. It was at a talent competition held in
Los Angeles where her comedy monologue invoked welcomed laughter from
the judges. It was a feeling she wouldn’t forget…and the beginning of
her budding interest in comedy. She won runner-up for her “Comedy
Monologue” and moved to Los Angeles shortly after. Her comedy is
engaging and smart. And her observations about life are peppered with
equal parts cynicism and sarcasm.
Since arriving in Los Angeles she has
also studied acting at the Howard Fine Acting Studio and improvisation
at The Groundlings. In her spare time you can find her creating shorts
with her digital camcorder, working out, playing volleyball, and
listening to Greek language CD's….because that’s how she rolls. |
